Somebody egged us last night... AGAIN. Called the police this time. He asked, "Is there anyone that might be mad at you? I noticed driving into the neighborhood that nobody else's house was messed up." Tim was scratching his head, Rebecca reviewing that she definitely didn't have anyone from college and probably not high school either that would have a problem, and all I could think of was Satan. We're in ministry. He's mad at us. Did he do it personally? Not likely. Where would he buy the eggs?

Sweet Life

Life has been incredibly busy with the birth of our grandaughter Zoe Anne on August 25th, 2010. Zoe means Life. That is one little life we cherish with all of our hearts! Then we finished the Hymns recording in time for the National Quartet Convention in September. Oh, and we added Justin Greer, Rebecca's fiance' to the lineup of The Quicks. Busy enough yet?! We are gonna bail and go wedding dress shopping today while Beck's on Fall Break!

Blog by The One and Only... REEEBECCA QUICK!

I was supposed to start blogging on here... oh, about 4 months ago. But what kind of college student would I be if I didn't procrastinate?! So, here I am.
One of the main reasons you're getting this update is because I've been immobile since yesterday. I had four big ole teeth ripped outta my head! (AKA - I had my wisdom teeth removed.) It's been a tough time having all kinds of food brought to me... watching movie after movie after movie... who am I kidding?! This has been a highlight of my summer break!
On a more serious note, I had actually been terrified of this whole process. My dentist told me to get my wisdom teeth out four years ago, and I just kept putting it off. I guess a little maturing on my end, a Momma who always knows what's best, and a whole lot of praying is exactly what I needed to get through it! Isn't it funny how God always takes care of you right when you need Him? And it wasn't a big deal AT ALL. I've actually had a ball eating all this chocolate pudding, lime sherbet, mashed potatoes, applesauce... I'm stopping now because that just made me hungry... and The Major and the Minor is about to go off, so I need to put in another movie! Maybe it won't take me four months to update on here again. Hope all you folks out there are having a lovely day! :)

Bear Chasin'

Beck is out west with some of her Alpha/Omega buddies going through the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, and Yellowstone. She chased a bear last night... caught up with him and got a pic. Lived to tell it! Bah hah!

Good weekend in South Carolina recently. Sang with Alan Frizzell family - Lefty Frizzell's brother. Was way cool. Tim and I listened to Lefty way back when...
Great to spend a little time with Wayne Morton of WGOG in Walhalla and met his wonderful better half, Donna. Good family. : )

Rebecca gets engaged. : )

Tim and I are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter Rebecca to Justin Greer of Lawrenceville, GA. Rebecca and Justin are both Recording Industry Majors at Middle Tennessee State University, where they met just over a year ago.
Tim and I are very happy and are confident that Justin is God's choice in God's time for Beck. No date has been set at this time. The couple plans to graduate MTSU first, where they will both be seniors this fall.

Tim and celebrated our 23rd Wedding Anniversary in Florida - we visited the old base where we were stationed for so many years. It felt good to be "home." Rachel is busy with college and the wedding plans - Rebecca just got back from a mission trip. We are finishing our latest album - the one we tried to finish last year - but we really are almost done. One song from this new album has already been sent to radio! It's called The Word is Out. It's way cool - Daryl Williams co-wrote this with me. How cool is that?

We just celebrated my Mom's birthday. She has Alzheimer's, so when we sang Happy Birthday to her, she just smiled and started singing along... not realizing we were celebrating her big day. She was smiling and happy - that is important to us.
With Tim getting his Bachelor's last fall, he has been looking for something he could do on the side. "Katie, bar the door" - he is going to do some substitute teaching! Rebecca is so excited! She wants him to hurry and be her teacher before she graduates in May!
Beck just took the ACT for the second time... she was disappointed that she only made a 28. I think a 28 lies somewhere in the ballpark of genius! (That's my baby girl!)
My other precious baby is off at college taking the world by storm. Rachel is knee-deep in the wedding plans. We have ordered the dress and spent a Saturday afternoon tying black ribbon on 150 bubble bottles. I guess that is the new thing rather than throwing rice.
Tim and I were pounded by rice at our wedding. We are coming up on our 23rd Anniversary. We hope to go back and visit Eglin Air Force Base that week.
We are working hard on finishing our latest album. The vocals are nearing completion and we hope to have CD's in hand by March. I can't wait!
till next time...

We decided (at Rebecca's pleading) to go to the SGMA Induction Ceremony this past Thursday since Mary Tom Speer Reid was being inducted. We enjoyed the day - getting lots of pics which you can see at www.thequicksonline.com. Our new album is coming along nicely - never as fast as we would like - but progressing well. Taking our time on this recording is paying off - the songs, the tracks, the vocal arrangements... every element is beyond any album we have ever recorded! Pretty cool!

We should have our new album finished in the fall, but not in time for National Quartet Convention. We are currently pushing a single from the last album anyway. It's called - "IT'S A SURE THING." The comments we continue to get are favorable and that it's really "catchy." I hope you hear it on Gospel radio - if you haven't, give 'em a call!

Wedding Announcement!

Tim and Sally Quick of The Quicks would like to announce the engagement of their daughter Rachel Anne to Aaron Rich of Louisville, Kentucky. Rachel is currently a junior at Middle Tennessee State University, majoring in Elementary Education. Aaron, formerly of the Daryl Williams Trio, is currently a sales rep at Imagistics in Louisville. The couple plans to wed in December 2007, upon Rachel’s graduation from MTSU.
“You don’t have to be around Rachel and Aaron long to see how happy they are together” says Sally Quick. “With Aaron’s love for Gospel Music and his experience in ministry, he should fit into this family just fine.”

I went to Bradford, Tennessee yesterday - tornadoes devastated that area Sunday night. I don't know where to begin to tell what damage was done. The "experts" have come in and announced that it was not a tornadoes, but just high winds. I may have more on this later...

My tax return has been mailed - WAHOO! Now I can move on to better things! I finished writing three songs for our next album, which we will begin in two weeks. This is just about my favorite part of the music business - recording! I love the creative process - I especially love writing a song, then seeing the finished product. Tim is now able to spend his time working for The Quicks since he no longer works for Vanderbilt. The wheels are rolling now! Look out music world, here we come! How exciting! Rachel is knee deep in college and working for the YMCA. Rebecca is getting ready for her Junior Prom... aaaawwwww.

February 3, 2006

Thanks to my good buddies John and Christy, Rachel now has built in shelves. I wonder if there is any hope this will motivate her to clean her room...
We are selecting songs for a hymn album - still! Rebecca and I think it's a load of fun, though. I hope to finish a couple of songs I began recently - they may work for our next CD.
till next time...
