We decided (at Rebecca's pleading) to go to the SGMA Induction Ceremony this past Thursday since Mary Tom Speer Reid was being inducted. We enjoyed the day - getting lots of pics which you can see at www.thequicksonline.com. Our new album is coming along nicely - never as fast as we would like - but progressing well. Taking our time on this recording is paying off - the songs, the tracks, the vocal arrangements... every element is beyond any album we have ever recorded! Pretty cool!

We should have our new album finished in the fall, but not in time for National Quartet Convention. We are currently pushing a single from the last album anyway. It's called - "IT'S A SURE THING." The comments we continue to get are favorable and that it's really "catchy." I hope you hear it on Gospel radio - if you haven't, give 'em a call!

Wedding Announcement!

Tim and Sally Quick of The Quicks would like to announce the engagement of their daughter Rachel Anne to Aaron Rich of Louisville, Kentucky. Rachel is currently a junior at Middle Tennessee State University, majoring in Elementary Education. Aaron, formerly of the Daryl Williams Trio, is currently a sales rep at Imagistics in Louisville. The couple plans to wed in December 2007, upon Rachel’s graduation from MTSU.
“You don’t have to be around Rachel and Aaron long to see how happy they are together” says Sally Quick. “With Aaron’s love for Gospel Music and his experience in ministry, he should fit into this family just fine.”

I went to Bradford, Tennessee yesterday - tornadoes devastated that area Sunday night. I don't know where to begin to tell what damage was done. The "experts" have come in and announced that it was not a tornadoes, but just high winds. I may have more on this later...

My tax return has been mailed - WAHOO! Now I can move on to better things! I finished writing three songs for our next album, which we will begin in two weeks. This is just about my favorite part of the music business - recording! I love the creative process - I especially love writing a song, then seeing the finished product. Tim is now able to spend his time working for The Quicks since he no longer works for Vanderbilt. The wheels are rolling now! Look out music world, here we come! How exciting! Rachel is knee deep in college and working for the YMCA. Rebecca is getting ready for her Junior Prom... aaaawwwww.

Thanks to my good buddies John and Christy, Rachel now has built in shelves. I wonder if there is any hope this will motivate her to clean her room...
We are selecting songs for a hymn album - still! Rebecca and I think it's a load of fun, though. I hope to finish a couple of songs I began recently - they may work for our next CD.
till next time...
